Nice to see a few other Devil Dogs on the boards. Missed the first Gulf War, but was sweating it my senior year of high school. Enlisted in delayed entry about two months before Saddam Insane invaded Kuwait. Met alot of gamers while I was stationed in Hawaii and Japan. Those were some fun times and I miss it!!!

Since I was in from 82 to 86, Grenada was the highlight of my tour. Being menaced by a sharpened mango - now that's adventure . . .

Steel pots, white t-shirts & M-16a1s! *shudder" ;)

Just be glad you missed Lebanon.

A very good friend of mine was there & spent several days clearing rubble & pulling bodies out of the barracks. I can't imagine being in that working party.

All right, i've read through page 3 of these posts, so here is my info.

Age 37, married 12 years to a woman currently in the Army and is designated a Mandarin Chinese lnterrogator (97E). She loves it. She is working on qualifying airborne, go figure. We have 3 kids, ages 11, 10, and 7.

My work history, 10 years in the US Navy submarine force, the USS Simon Bolivar (Gold), and High School science teacher. I am currently an at home dad and thinking of getting a masters in Speech Therapy.

Gaming history: Learned to play D&D at Damn Kneck, VA in 1985, while I was in "A" school. It was 1e. Have played every edition, except "optional" 2e. I have also played Aftermath, Swords and Chivalry, Paladium, Synnibar, Traveller, Shadowrun, and several others. Those are just the ones I liked enough to remember.

i have gamed with many people over the years and would love to run into most of them again. I am currently running a Ravenloft game with 5 players who don't mind their characters dying almost every game session. Well, one out of every 3 sessions.

What kind of person am I? A very judgemental and intelligent male who loves his wife and kids more than anything.

Plans for the future? Enjoying the hell out of my wife getting assigned duty in Japan. We will be staying for 3 years, if I have anything to say about it. Unless I am sadly mistaken in how much I will enjoy it. My wife wants to stay in the Army for 20. I don't think so. I am tired of the months of separation because of Army ideals for training that don't apply to people of my wife's age, maturity, work ethics, intelligence, or responsibility. Plus she and i still have kids to raise, and they need both parents far more often.

alrighty then

Ok I just got back from Kosovo doing another tour wth a Marine Reserve unit, Im a Police Lt in NYC working in the Bronx. Ive been gaming since 86 and just wish I had more darn time to play!

Devil Dogs

Wow lots of fellow Marines here,
I was in 90 to 95, served on the USS Canopus in the Security Force unit, MARDET, then went to the Stumps and served with 3RD LARBN as a scout then Vehicle commander on a LAV-25.
Last year I was asked to go back and help train A Reserve unit getting deployed, so after 8 years I was back in Lejeune then Off to Kosovo with Golf co. 2/25 as a Assaultman, 0351. There I had to play with some mines and do some LRRP's for the Army.
Im 31 now and I plan to relax a little bit now!

Semper Fi!

Hmmm, who am I know, or what was I?

OK, over thirty, under 40.
Male
Wife, 3 kids.
I used to part of the Green Machine (The Army) and wore the Uncle Sam Ain't Released Me Yet badge, but got out due to ling of duty injuries in 1993. Worked for someone else in Guvurman' Lan' who desired my skills & knowledge off and on until about a month or two ago (maybe as long as a year)
Desert Storm: Been There, Done That.
Just Cause: Never Heard of It.
Bosnia: Where?
Kenya: That's in Kentucky, right?

My wife is ex-military too. Combat Medic (before they merged the two different medic MOS's into the same)

Now?
I pretend to be a writer, but for the most part, I take care of the house and go to the doctor regularly for fun and enjoyment.
Who am I?
Beats me, call it Mid-Life Crisis.

Oh, and if this isn't making sense, I'm jacked up on painkillers...

Me? you dare ask who i am!
People tremble at the mention of my name!

I am GOD!

The all powerfull Q!

What do i do? Well manage and control the universe of course! I am the Ultimate DM!

james Bell,

Just want to hi jack this thread a little bit to let you know I am running my 7, 10, and 11 year old kids through Nemoran's Vault and they are enjoying it thoroughly. My 7 year old loves Baran the Barbarian. My 11 year old daughter loves the "false" pit trap and the stained glass trick door, since she figured them both out. Plus she figured out the "color code" on the 3rd try. The only problem is my 10 year old son cut off his finger and now has that kick-butt runesword. Of course right now he only knows that it "flame-on"s whenever he draws it out of its scabbard.

Thanks for all the fun!

I'm me and nobody else.

Real name: Andrew
Date of Birth: 1st November 1968

I live in Melbourne Australia. I rent with my snugglebunny who I love very much. :D I'm lucky to have her in my life. Not married, yet at least. One day we will be, but no dates as of this time. No kids, no pets but a number of stuffed animals on the bed to keep us company.

I work with latex.

Started gaming when I bought the red book back in... um... 81 I think. Might have been before then... it was a long time ago ok!

I enjoy reading fantasy / sci-fi novels, presently looking for my lost copy of the k.maru, star trek novel. I can't find it. :(

Currently enjoying watching dvds and playing gamecube.

Presently not rpg gaming. :(
