Other healers?

I was thinking of cutting down on the types of casters in a campaign. So Warlock would be allowed, but not Wizards, Sorcerors, or other variants of same. This would have a being with spell-like abilities, but not spells.

I was thinking of doing something similar to Clerics and Druids (and really, all other spell-casters/psionic power users), but am not sure if there is a suitable "replacement" class, that could make certain characters can actually get healing (the nonspellcaster variant of the paladin still has lay on hands, but that is probably not enough)..

So my questions:

a) What other classes are out there that use healing without using spells? Would the Healer from the minuratures handbook fit the bill?

b) What else can I do to make sure characters don't die TOO often?

1) Nope, they use spells.

2) Make sure they're aware of the lack of magical healing available, and inform them that investing in the Heal skill and a good, solid dose of tactical thinking would go a long way toward their survivability.

You could do what I'm planning to do with my next campaign--eliminate all casters except the sorcerer, and allow the player to select from any spell in the SRD for the sorcerer's known spells. Since the sorcerer is pretty weak compared to other classes, you might want to do some additional tweaking--perhaps add a few bonus feats, allow casting while wearing armor, grant the eschew materials feat for free at character creation, or give them a domain or two. Or maybe you'd want to add all of these.:)
