Otto's Irresistable Dance

And what's that feat in DotF that turns a touch spell into a ray...? Maybe he's researched an improved reach spell feat. Many options, prolly the familiar or improved spectral hand-type spell (I have one kinda like that in my game called Necrotic Hands...)

How about you get the party wizard to cast improved invisibility on you?

Saw a nasty use for Otto's Irresistible Dance in... some book or other... Some Wizard Lord had had a prisoner bound in razor wire, and everytime the guy tries to move, the wire would cut into him, so as long as he remained perfectly still in a kneeling position, he was fine. Then the Wizard cast OID, and the guy was sliced to ribbons as he danced to death.....

just be happy your DM is throwing you softballs. If I was your DM and I hit you with OID, you be a pile of dust, gusted away on the wind before you could say what do you mean I'm dancing.

One other thing that could help: Spell Turning.

Doesn't work. From the SRD,

"Spell turning also fails to affect touch range spells."

Might try a Greater Ring of Counterspells (from Bastion of Broken Souls). It can hold spells of up to 9th level.

Lords of Darkness.
I told my PCs about it and we all agreed it was the worst possible way to die.

I would say have the party wizzie use Imp. Invis. on ya or make use of your spells that impede vision. Or even better, use the DMs own terrain against him, duck behind rocks and around corners!

If the bad guy has turend the spell into a ranged spell, then spell turning will work.

If you are a cleric, and it is one spell that is consistantly screwing you over (any spell) there is an extremely simple solution, easy to use and lower level. Very simply....Spell Immunity, granting unbeatable to SR against 1 specific spell per 4 caster levels it can stop any spell that can be stopped by SR. In my oppinion it is one of the most useful spells in the game, allowing you to protect yourself with a little forethought, but also allowing you to do things like ward your melee fighters against area affect spells your magic users like to drop on the enemies.
