Summer was like one of those Rolemaster critical hit table entries for me - schneeland is stunned and unable to parry for 2 rounds month (we had more than 30°C for multiple weeks, and my flat is right under the roof).

However, now that we are transitioning to autumn, I used a few days off to restart running. So far, it's going ok - while running, my body tries to tell me that I might die any moment, and I'm not exactly fast, but I do feel good afterwards. And limiting myself to 2 miles instead of 4 seems to be more agreeable for my knees.

It's been a good summer for me, fitness-wise. I've managed to keep my total cholesterol below my doctor-recommended 130, and I've kept those 50-something pounds off for another year. Those numbers fluctuate by ±5 or so every couple of weeks, but I'm told that's normal.

I can only take credit for half the work, though. Overall fitness is a combination of four factors (Diet, Exercise, Environment, and Genetics) and I really only have control over two of them. But I'm still working out everyday in various levels of intensity, and still eating a low calorie/high fiber diet, and it's serving me well.

I guess this is my new "steady state."

I'm up over 190lbs now, the heaviest I've been in my life. Which would feel GOOD if I was still lifting heavy. :ROFLMAO:

I still haven't been able to re-establish the regular three times a week habit since I stopped during the move in December. I've had some irregular workouts the past couple of months and did manage a full three circuit session on the 26th and a partial on the 28th. Hoping to get back on track starting tomorrow. I'm not as strong as I was when I left off, but I'm milking the lower weights and the eccentrics and ranges of motion to get good burn and pumps, so it feels good when I do get in.

It's also my intent this year to finally get cardio added on to my regular schedule, but intent is nothing. Actually showing up and doing it is what I need now.
After that note on April 8 I got up to 195 before I regulated my eating better, though I wasn't able to re-establish the regular gym habit until the end of July. I've been pretty solidly back on my 3x/wk schedule- checking my notes it looks like I've missed 4 sessions out of 28 scheduled days since I got back. Which isn't too bad.

Back down to my usual 185ish, and still not as strong as I was last year, but I'm continuing to focus on slow eccentrics and full range of motion to get more stimulus out of lower weights, and to minimize hurting myself.

I've also gotten in a little bit of cardio when I go to Planet Fitness with my brother on his black card- he usually just goes to run on the elliptical for an hour, and when I go with him I'll normally run for 5-10 min to start, go lift for a bit, then finish with another 5-10 of running. If my energy levels keep up I've considered adding a day or two of just running.

Thread necromancy time:

How's everyone's routines and dieting regimens going? How did the summer work out (har har) for you?

Down 10kg and blood pressure seems fine. Overdue for doctors vist to get everything checked.

Fit enough for this

But not this.

Looking at losing next 10kg which would get me to my 1997 weight and peak fitness levels where I could run up something like that top video.

10kg is awesome!!! Great work!

Looking at the panorama in these videos, I cannot help but think that my blood pressure would also be lower if I lived close to such stunning vistas 😄

First one is 10 minute to 30 minute drive to get to depending on where you want to ascend. 500-700 Metre high in most places. They do a marathon touching the 5 peaks locslly and there's a 27km hike up there

Second ones about 4 hour drive close to where I was born and federal area of lotr shooting . Tourist trap these days.
