Well my gym just got a belt squat!!!! Yea!!!!

What's a gym;)

Peak Zard was lots of running, sit ups, push ups and general physical activity (work, swimming, abseiling, rock climbing).

1996 weighed 90kg, 97 (peak) was 95. Currently 107 heading into summer.

I don't think I could get much below 95-97 running up mount everest twice a day.

Not even going to try doing that stuff again injury 2.0 waiting to happen.

Heading into summer so leaning towards hiking, swimming and dieting.

My warranty apparently ran out in 2023 but despite some health challenges I went ahead with bariatric surgery and in 15ish months have gone from 195kg to 125kg. So things are getting better, still limited some but feel better than I have in a long time. Trying to get back to my fighting weight, as it were, of 110kg not sure if it will happen but anything under 115kg would be great! fingers crossed for not failing anymore health surprise rolls

I've never had a gym with one before, and I've heard great things. As a Man of a Certain Age, it would be nice to try. :p
My gym got one within the last year, and I like it a lot in concept but I find it a bit of a pain to set up. So I've only used it a few times and I generally do leg press and stiff legged deadlifts instead.

I'm winding down a "cut," having dropped 11 pounds in the last ~2 months. I have one more week on it to get to my goal body fat percentage. That coincides with a "deload" I'm taking on my training to get my elbows, knees, and shoulders to heal up a bit. Then I'm on to a slight (~200/day) caloric surplus and a new mesocycle in my lifting.

My hope is to spend the next six weeks putting on a bit of muscle while minimizing the fat I'll doubtless pick up (middle aged man problems). In particular, I'm hoping to also focus a bit on bench and deadlift strength. For a smaller guy (155-160 lbs), I'm happy with my bench at the moment (245 for 5-6 reps). I'd like to get it to 255 for a reliable 6 reps by the end of the cycle. My deadlift is not as good, so I'm hoping to bump that up a bit more significantly. Last go 'round was 295 for 5, and it was difficult. I'd like to get to at least 315 for the same reps (and with better form) by the end.

Overall I'm feeling pretty confident. The last few months have been the most disciplined with my eating and training that I've been in a few years. I've been consistent with my training, but my diet hasn't been, and I think that's affected my energy and focus in the workouts. I'm hoping to carry my current momentum to the "bulk" without returning to the 13 year old goblin I typically devolve into after a cut. Fingers crossed!

Okay, I’m going to take the opportunity to brag on myself a bit…

It’ll be two years tomorrow since I had one of my semi-regular realizations that I wasn’t feeling that great about the way that I looked and felt, and it was time to get serious about getting into shape. I had hit 236 lbs, which was still down from my highest weight but I had put in 40 of those lbs back over a period of about 6 years - as much I’d like to have blamed the pandemic, it was more the switch to a new job that had seriously stressed me out, and then my resulting laziness to do anything except come home and veg.

Since that time, I’ve dropped down to 168 lbs. currently which is my maintenance weight. I’ve been holding that steady since about March of this year. In addition, I’ve gained a good amount of muscle from regular weightlifting. Wish I could say how much but I didn’t really do a DEXA scan or measurements but I can absolutely see the difference. So yeah, I’m feeling really damn good about my fitness right now 😁
