Man I can't believe I forgot TFOS!

That's Teenagers From Outer Space for the unenlightened.

A softcover book that came with dice... Reeeeeeally tiny dice. :)

MERP, CP20xx, WFRP, Trinity, early [A]D&D, Earthdawn, Pendragon.

Wow, what a lot of fantasy stuff. Not obvious what my favourite 'genre' tends to be, oh no.

Not because any of those games is necessarily all that, but because all of them were lots of fun at the time. :)

It's all about the company, with RPGs, as it ever is.
You covered mine with your list (BECMI, AD&D, EarthDawn) and then Scurvy pointed out...

Earthdawn and Warhammer Fantasy are still in print.

Fantasy Flight Games is handling Warhammer Fantasy:

Earthdawn is handled by RedBrick Limited:
http://www.earthdawn.com/

With Earthdawn you can buy PDFs (drivethru/rpgnow) or you can buy Print on Demand from Lulu (hard and soft cover).
So I guess technically ED is back off that list.

I used to play a Star Trek game also that was really fun, but I don't know if it was the FASA version or not.

Dragon Warriors, dunno where my old books are.

Mind you, it's hard to miss oop games, there's not much you can't buy on ebay for a reasonable price.

I don't have too many OOP games that I miss. The only games that come to mind are:

- Top Secret S.I. This was stolen along with my truck.
- James Bond 007
- DC Heroes 2nd edition/3rd edition. (My superhero game of choice is M&M, but DC Heroes is the only other superhero game I really like and the DC stats were official).
- Alternity
- Toon (I could probably get my brother to game if this was in print).

Pretty much any other game that I owned and is now currently out of print, I got rid of for a reason.

Do you miss the support they had while they were still in print?

No. For a few reasons.
  • I seldom used any of the support when it was available
  • Many of these games never really had support
  • Those that did have support, I can still buy the few things I might use second-hand

Melee, Wizard, TFT... Those are fun games.

Now, there are games that are out-of-print that I don’t have, never played (so I don’t really “miss” them), but that I think I’d like to play. Many of those, however, are available for a song second-hand too. A few aren’t.

The out-of-print games that I really miss that can be hard to acquire second-hand for what I’m willing to spend are board games. e.g. Magic Realm, Formula-1

Wiz-War (board game)

Lost Worlds (booklet and card game where you exchange booklets)

I guess Talisman (board game) counts, as it just went OOP again. :(

Maelstrom (rpg) was kinda fun to read, though I never played it (this is the 16th century England done in one little book)
