Out of Shape Miniatures?

I have found an alternate, but equally effective method of fixing warped figures. This has worked not only on D&D minis, but on HeroClix as well.

Get out a hairdryer and set medium heat. Hold the figures in the heat for a minute or so (I just use double-sided tape and some scrap cardboard). They will become pliable fairly quickly. Position the figure to its proper pose. At this point you can either set them aside (works best for HeroClix) or do a quick dip in cool water. This will set the pose in place. The harder the plastic type the longer the heating and cooling process will take.

The water doesn't need to be boiling, just hot - I've seen it done with microwaved water.

That is what I used. Boiling water would work, but it cuts down on the amount of time you have to work with. ;-)

My technique: Microwave water in small drinking glass until hot to touch. Drop mini in glass. Use chopsticks to retrieve mini after 1 minute. Should feel "floppy". Pose mini as desired and run under cool water. Repeat if unsatisified with results.

Dangers: 1) This can bend the base. Make sure that you keep an eye on the base instead of just wrenching stuff around. You don't want a non-flat base. 2) Leaving mini in too long probably destroys it. Bad. 3) Process may contaminate water or glass. Do not make tea with the hot water afterwards. ;-)

Best results: The Bone Devil and the Skeletons worked pretty well. Thin things like swords and bones work well. Thicker things, like twisting a Dwarf torso would be much harder.

I boiled some water in a kettle and then dipped the minis. 1 minute was way more than needed; I only left them in for 10-15 seconds or so. It's a great fix for warped bases or minis that are bent at an angle.

My method would be to break out the scalpels, minifiles, micro dremmel saw, and the plastic modeling glue. Then the primer and paints...

What? Oh you want them to go to the 'original' shape...

My bad, I am just waaaay to used to customizing minis.
