D&D 5E Out of the Abyss OOC

I think buffing another PC for several encounters is probably tactically better than, say, twinning a Chromatic Orb for spike damage.
Well, I'm happy with that.

I had wondered whether to help Solace or Brinn, or even Raza, but Brinn is likely to object and I'm not sure if the Mage Armor will continue to assist Raza once she's shape changed?
I think it would help if Raza's shape changed form has an AC of 12 or less.

Having the light source at the back also might help the stealthy front rank, and we'd know, if it goes dark, then we're being attacked from the rear!
Solace also has light at the back.

Raza can have darkvision with a long duration (8 hours) spell and can go anywhere in the line-up. She's not great at combat but, as noted, has wild shape. So, SOP for Raza will be to cast Darkvision at the start of travel.

On her short rest, she will use 1 HD (Raza short rest: 1D8+2 = [3]+2 = 5) and use her natural recovery to restore two first level spells.

I'm seeing two ideas emerge in the OOC from your discussion of a single-file marching order. One, go with stealth in front. Two, go with a tank in front. You guys will need to pick which approach you want. Keep in mind Stealth and Surprise can only occur while on a slow pace. To get us going on a decision, I'll pitch a tank-based and a stealth-based marching order, and you lot can pick one and tweak it. Once we know the default for single-file marches, it should be a snap to settle on the default marching order for two-abreast.

A) TANK: Kago (front) << Shuushar (navigator) << Solace << Raza << Kamael << Stool << Brinn [with Jimjar and Turvey wherever you guys tell me they are]

B) STEALTH: Solace or Raza (front) << Shuushar (navigator) << Kamael << Stool << Brinn << Kago [with Jimjar and Turvey wherever]

My vote is for going slow, both to gather food & for surprise/stealth. I don't know how good Shushaar will be as navigator but I guess if we're going to his town then he should know the way!

Jimjar & Turvey don't seem like they'd be useful in a fight so maybe they should guard the rear? Though as underdark natives they'll have a better idea how to forage than the surface dwellers:)
