D&D 5E Out of the Abyss OOC

The shard is, I think, a flint shard Solace found in the Velkynvelve prison cell. The hand crossbow cane from the Velkynvelve armory, from inside a chest.

While I want to track food and water for the near future (because both, plus exhaustion, are a material part of the adventure), I expressly do not want to track ammo. Really, I don't like tracking mundane consumables at all...pain in the rear, as I'm sure others agree.

Technically, Raza found the stone shard and gave it to Solace because she could see in the dark when Raza couldn't.

Tracking gear is my least favorite aspect of the D&D game. :( Tracking rations definitely falls under that 'least favorite' banner. However, as it was suggested previously that we didn't need to go to Sloobludoop to get food since Raza could cast Goodberry, Raza will not look favorably upon that sort of thinking. She already daily expends a large amount of spell power on basic survival and isn't keen to expand that.

That's true, GlassEye. And it saved her! So thanks.

at the table, I actually think tracking equipment can be fun -- not overloading; with practical endurance and carrying capacity things; scarcity management.

In PbP, though, I agree that it gets in the way as too fiddly for me, who likes fiddly things.

In some ways I feel it is easier in PbP, since everyone can see the shared party loot and individual equipment at any time. Though its a shame there is no way to allow other people to edit your posts and update them.

I've created a post of the kuo-toa loot, and converted 8 half-eaten rations into 4 sets of full rations/waterskins, without specifying precisely who is carry how much - Kamael will just spread them out equally:)

In tabletop, I never track rations or ammo; though I understand rations are more important in this scenario. No time for Kago to butcher any of the kuo-toa corpses though!!

Is your consensus to travel to Sloobludop? I haven't heard otherwise in the last two days. If so, I'd like to know whether you're trekking down there as a group en masse in a cluster. Or will you send an advance scout to reconnoiter the city and its defenses? Is one of you taking point on negotiating or being the party face as you enter the city? Are you being sneaky, or just barreling forthrightly forward?

Let me know. If I get enough info, I'll try my very best to forward the IC this evening.

Is there any side passage we can use to travel to Stools home without actually going through Sloobludop?

If so, go that way. I think we should travel together, don't mind if we are sneaky or obvious.

Solace is willing to sneak or to be on point, if that helps, but she's also willing to stand next to Kago in the front line. It's worked out well for her in the past. :D

The reasons for going to Sloobludop are still valid but with her new perspective Raza wouldn't push it either way. Whether we go or not, Raza will insist on traveling slowly for stealth and scrounging. Raza could scout with Solace, doesn't yet trust Ce'rek, but with all her superpowerz depleted wouldn't volunteer. Solace would probably be the best face with her range of skills though Kamael would be pretty good at it, too. The only issue might be language but we've several that might work as translators, if necessary.

Brinn has +4 Insight and speaks Undercommon.
Solace has +4 Insight +7 Persuasion but doesn't (and so might suffer disadvantage).
If Brinn helping would cancel disadvantage, then Solace can be the face. Or he can make the initial contact and try to find someone who speaks Common.
