Overcomin the SR of Psuedonaturals...

Epic SR quickly becomes very silly. Spellcasters are advised to use spells which ignore SR, including summoning epic critters of their own.

I've seen caster levels of 34 at level 20, but Epic should be easier due to extra wealth.

HD x5 SR means HD 16 =80 SR at CR 26.

Yeah, SR ignore spells are better here. A simple grease will let your ally epic Rogue gut them like a fish.

Alienist uses 3.5 Complete Arcane template.

He is using the 3.0 version in the Epic handbook.

As per the link above, the template I am describing is from the hypertext srd, the v3.5 Systems Reference Document.
The Alienist, however, gains the Summon Alien ability as it appears on page 22 of Complete Arcane. This ability allows the Alienist to apply the pseudonatural template as it appears on page 160 of Complete Arcane.

I am don't know if this is the only instance in 3.5 d&d where two different template have the same name, but this causes no difficulty, as the Summon Alien class feature is adequately specific.

Starbuck II, what feats/class feature/items were used to generate a +14 to Caster Level checks?

if you're a full spellcaster at epic level, invest in a cloud of orange prism ioun stones. they give a nameless +1 bonus to CL for a (for epic characters) low cost of 30k each.

Well, for SR purposes or normal?
Because remember SP and Improved spell penetration is +4.
That leaves +10.

Ioun Stone is +1.
If Divine caster add prayer bead (10 minutes duration) is +4= (usually used for buffs but in a emergency they would be useful like this)
Assay Resistance (removes 10 SR from opponent)
Divine Spell Power (adds +1 to +6 to Caster level by sacrificing a turn attempt for 1 spell. If you have low Charisma is possible to not get a bonus though)
Earth Spell (+1 caster/etc) basically Heighten metamagic increases caster level as well.
Ankh of Ascension: sacrifice spell for higher caster
A few Bard spells raise caster in Spell Compendruim (but Concentration duration so Bard can't do anything but make you awesome).

I could go on: although easier for Divine casters than Arcane- Arcane casters can get just as much.

So using just what I listed for Divine (not using Ahnk): 1 +4+10+3+(Heightened by 1) 1+1 (Divine +1 caste bard spell)= Caster 40 for SR purposes/ caster 30 in general on 1 spell.

Add in SP/ISP= 44/34 caster (SR/general purposes).
