Paging the Code Monkeys

tmaaas

First Post
Well, www.codemonkeypublishing.biz has been back up for a while now, but I can't seem to get any emails from them.

I've tried to have the store send me my password twice, and also tried registering for their new boards. I knew they used to have problems with AOL, but I didn't have problems with my account previously (sbcglobal.net domain).

I'm posting this message here because I can't post on their boards at the moment.

While I'm at it, a couple other comments.

The code monkey site is still the slowest web site I visit by a large margin. It feels like I'm back on dial up. Is this normal for everyone else, or am I special?

I was hoping to see the Friday updates they've been posting. That way I'd be aware if the problems I'm having are known and being worked on. Unfortunately, they require you to sign in to their boards to even view them. We didn't have to do this previoulsy (I could view the Friday updates without signing in) and it would be nice to be able to do so again. Especially since I can't sign on at all at the moment.

Thanks.

Have you tried looking in your spam folder for those emails? They're emailing from a .biz domain, and apparently those often get tagged as spam. Just what I've heard. If you have looked, have you tried to email customer service? They're usually very responsive. I suppose if you aren't getting emails from them, that's moot, now that I think on it.

The site is running slow because of a transfer to another server. Not sure of the why's and wherefore's, but that was the explanation. It seems to be running a bit faster today.

I can post a thread to alert them if you like over on their boards.

Actually, I'm in that same case. I can't log into the boards, and can't even read the announcements regarding datasets.

Had a problem with their new site here too! Pages are taking 3-4 MINUTES to update & I've got a decent broadband connection! So Gawd only knows how long it'd take over dial-up! Teething troubles I guess :-(

You're special, just like everyone else. ;) It's painfully slow for me, too -- from home or work. I'm also having problems logging in with the brand-new, shiny ID I created.

I hope this is any sort of indicator of life (or lack thereof) for CMP.

Someone on their boards mentioned that flushing their DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns) did the trick for them. It didn't for me, but YMMV.

Well, thanks for all the responses.

I guess I'll just wait and see if CMP ever returns from their current state of undeath.
