I hope they do skip it. The printing costs will not be worth it given it's unlikely to sell well. That money should go to other things.

Preorder is still available on their site for October 18th, I'd guess the books are already at the printer assuming they're printed in China.

Guessing they'll be somewhat conservative on their print run and since the book is probably already done, it makes sense to release it for the people who will still use it for the next year or so until 2e officially releases.

Yeah it's going to be really awkward.

That said, there are people who still play Pf1E. So there will probably also be people who prefer SF1E. But the market for those product probably just shrank by a major amount today.
