Hopefully those goblins are setting 4e on fire.

From what I have heard, Pathfinder is a great line. I wonder if Pathfinder subscribers are mostly people who are:
1) sticking with 3e
2) switching to 4e
3) using Pathfinder as a resource for a different edition/game system entirely?

If it is 1) or 3) they probably shouldn't adopt 4e. 4e is so different from everything else, with such different assumptions (it goes up to 11, after all) I would expect it would drive more customers away than it would win, but that's merely a guess and I'm not sure about it.

Of course, if most of their customers were planning on switching to 4e (especially sight unseen) then I suppose they should switch.

Naw, Paizo's Pathfinder line will become the latest setting to go Savage!!

[tongue inserted firmly into cheek]

P.S - My OWN tongue in my OWN cheek, thank you very much!!!! :D

It's perfectly obvious. There are 12 words in the announcement. Three of those words have large-style capital letters. 12 divided by three equals four. Ergo, Paizo are making a capital decision and changing over to 4e. Quite clear, imho.

On the other hand...

There is one flaming goblin and several uninjured goblins. Paizo are ignoring the flames and going with the survivors. And how many uninjured goblins are there? Three and a half. Yes indeed. Paizo is staying with 3.5. How much simpler could it be?

Agreed. Or they got a (roughly) completed draft. The Paizo crew has publicly stated many of a time they would not make a decision until they saw it.

More fun with Goblin Songs!

Goblins plot and goblins scheme,
Following a fiery dream,
Goblins say, “We win, you lose!”
Goblins have the power to choose.

Read our fates within the fire,
Burn the old upon its pyre.
Roll the dice and follow me,
Goblins say we’ll play 4E

Chase the puppy, cut it down,
Spill its entrails on the ground,
Learn our fate while it’s alive,
Goblins say, “Stay with 3.5”

Very clever!! I like it. Rhymes without really saying anything either way... :D

Am I just crazy, or does this sort of evoke the college of cardinals choosing a new pope? I dunno, it just feels so mysterious...

Anyway, here's hoping they stick with 3.5! It would be nice if somebody stuck around to give me my D&D fix...

Though possible, I doubt it. (Jeff from Inner Circle Games has no GSL as of today.)

If it was delivered to them yesterday, I would think that they would need some time (and legal review) before making a decision.

Rather, I think the GSL is NOT ready, but Paizo has deadlines.

We'll see.

Goblins dash the humans’ hopes.
Change all rules, destroy all tropes.
Build the whole darned thing anew,
Use GURPS is what goblins do.

Goblins won’t choose from your list.
Goblins are the evilest.
It will never be the same,
Goblins go to HERO Games.
