Paladin advanced class

Thank you both.

As it is, I'm working on a sourcebook for my setting that will need all of the basic classes for D&D rebuilt for D20 Modern.

Some ideas move quickly, like the above, ond others move more slowly.

Back to work...

Overall, I think it's an excellent concept for an Advanced class. The only suggestion I would make is that the allegiance requirement be expanded from "good" to "law" and "good". The whole notion of lawfulness is a fundamental tenant of the paladin archetype; to merely display allegiance to "good" opens the door to "cut off the head of the suspected child molester" vigilantism, which is antithetical to the paladin ethos.

But that's a very minor point. Your paladin is a superb Advanced class.

Umnn... No....

Suspected? As in not sure? As in "Let 'god' sort them out"?

That ain't good, but it could be lawful. Depends on if the local law has innocent before guilty as a base concept.

The modern paladin does not use lawfulness as a limiter for two reasons:
First, the modern world does not limit itself well to the rigid cast system of the ancient world.
Second, they are no longer controlled by the church, but by somewhat by personal belief and public opinion. This leads to a situation where even chaotic paladins are possible. Anyway, even with the religion angle, why would a chaotic god have lawful paladins? And why would they not have a chaotic paladin?

Come on! Picture a happy-go-lucky kender paladin of mishkal! It's cute!

You know you want to play one!
