Paladin Mount Barding

Now that all creatures get feats based on HD, it occurred to me that my paladin mount may need armor proficiency to avoid getting an attack penalty wearing barding. Does anyone know if this is so? thanks.

Its a good question.

A Heavy Warhorse has Endurance and Run for it's feats, but clearly is bred for wearing barding.

I guess you could go either way on this one, but I tend to think of such mounts as having the appropraite armor feats for free, somewhat like the fighter class.
