Paladins of Wee Jas?

In a campaign I played i, I was a LG necromancer of Wee Jas; we had her as not only the goddess of death, but also the goddess of birth. Her domain was the Bloody Road, and passing into and out of life was her business.

Make sure your paladin has a bracelet that says, WWWJD?

This topic came up in our gaming group a while back. I was aware of the parenthetic alignment she had in earlier editions, but since I like the idea of a non-evil god of death, that doesn't bother me.

The most interesting thing that came out of our discussion was actually the result of a minor misreading of something in the PH. Basically, it says that all Neutral Clerics of Wee Jas use negative energy to rebuke, etc. undead. We missed the "Neutral" part of that, and extended the idea to a Paladin of Wee Jas who could rebuke undead and cause wounds.

Personally, I really like the image, and would allow it in my game. Then again, I think the idea that energy from the negative plane is inherently evil and energy from the positive plane is inherently good is... um... not real great.

Nothing very useful to add, just wanted to say that when I first saw this topic I could've sworn it read "Paladins of Jar Jar?"

*shudders*

Oh, that's quite impossible. I'm physically incapable of even typing Jar J--uhm, whatever it was you said.

;)

Whosa, meesa? How wude!

I like the idea of a LG paladin with Death Touch instead of Lay Hands. Also, he'd have on black and red instead of the traditional gleaming silver. I like.

I just had a thought. (Scary, eh?)

Don Quixote, paladin of Wee Jas. He's vain. Preoccupied with death. Oblivious to anything that stands in his way.

A pretty good fit, eh?

Are you telling me they didn't fix the typo in 3.5e? St. Cuthbert is still listed as LN? Oh the humanity!!!!!

St. Cuthbert is a strident foe of all evil, he is not neutral.

I think this is one of those cases where you should not let the rules override logic, and simply not allow a paladin of Wee Jas.

A holy warrior (from BotR) with the death and magic domains, OTOH...

For a while now I've been wanting to play a "paladin" of a CG god. Not actually the Paladin class, mind you. Just a Clr/Ftr who calls himself a Paladin in-game. With the blessing of his church, presumably. Just to watch the metagamers squirm in their seats when my pally's behavior goes straight against the standard paladin code. :D

Of course, then Dragon came out with a bunch of alternative paladins a couple of issues ago, which sorta spoiled the fun...
