[Paranoia] Does anyone know this game?

Re: Does anyone know this game?

Don't forget the 10 early warning signs of commie traitorism:

1) Prefers to share all equipment and credits equally

2) Refers to other troubleshooters as "Bourgeoise Pigs"

3) Uses his left hand

4) Leaves home without his Alpha Complex Express Card

5) Suggests negotiating with traitors

6) Lacks sincerity

7) Adresses The Computer as "Comrade"

8) Longs for Classic Bouncy Bubble Beverage , when the new improved version is so much better.

9) Has embarrassing underarm stains

10) Does anything at all that you find annoying

Help stamp out commie traitors before they do damage!

Perfect!!

Thanks for telling me the name of the game, I'm looking forward to start my search for the game now.

Thanks for your input, and I'm glad to hear that it has positive reviews, well for a silly game that is.

Ashe, there were three versions of Paranoia: 1st, 2nd and 5th. If at all possible, buy 2nd edition Paranoia. In my opinion it has the finest mix of dark humor in any of the editions, and is the most playable.

Paranoia is one of my favorite games. It's well worth it if you can track it down.

If anyone is interested, I can re-post links to Paranoia adventures I have written.

Classic example of Paranoia game play.
Player1 enters into medibooth to take required sleepy-sleepy pill for night time cycle, when the pill pops out of the dispenser it's all crumbly and looks like it's been sitting on the bottom of a candy bar machine for a year or so.

Player1: Computer, my sleepy-sleepy pill is bad.
Computer: Please report nature of "bad".
Player1: It's all crumbly and smells funny.
Computer: Please report nature of bad.
Player1: I said it's all crumbly and smells.
Computer: Troubleshooter 73502 you will immediately ingest the pill and report on nature of bad, to refuse is an act of tratiorism and punishable by termination.
Player1: But UH...
Computer: Die Commie Scummm!!!!!
( lasers inside the medi booth turn player into ash.)
Computer over loud speaker: Troubleshooter# 73503 please report to medi booth #1954 for immediate assignment.
PLayer1 with next clone: Troubleshooter #73503 reporting for duty friend computer.
Computer: Your assignment is to determine problems with the sleepy-sleepy pill dispenser in this med unit, you have all the tools you need at your disposal please proceed.
Player1 with new clone: Well it seems that the pill that has been dispensed is crumbly and smells bad.
Computer: Die Communist Traitor Scumm!!!!
(lasers turn player to ash)
Computer over loud speaker: Troubleshooter # 73504 please report to ........

Paranoia rocks!

mmmm, this list looks like YOU are a commie. Having this list is proof of it. :)

PC, you tease! Post the links, please...?

ObWarStory: No kidding, there I was, in the middle of the Paranoia game. The GM had assigned me "Communist Party" as my secret society, and something very flashy, obvious, and uncontrollable (I forget what, now) as my mutant power. I decided to play it to the hilt and produced (that is to say, hastily hand-wrote the titles of) little brochures (notebook paper folded in thirds): "We CAN All Just Get Along" "Lenin for Dummies" and "Karl and Vlad Go to the Commune" (the last was for clones-in-training, of course). I used my best (that is to say, most ear-grating) Russian accent and passed out brochures.

I *think* I survived halfway through the adventure. :)

Pardon my intrusion...

... but you are all under arrest for being Commie Traitors.

There is no game called Paranoia.

Knowledge of a game called Paranoia is security clearance Ultraviolet. Knowledge of the rules for a game called Paranoia is security clearance Ultraviolet.

As, by your writing, you are all demonstrably security clearance Yellow, you are not cleared for Ultraviolet clearance information.

Knowledge of Ultraviolet information by a Yellow citizen is treason.

Please report to the nearest Confession Booth and/or Termination Center immediately.

The Computer is your friend.

Last time I checked, friend Citizen, Grey and Black text were only for use by Infra-Red clearance clones.

As this is a yellow clearance thread, you are therefor perusing restricted materials well above your security clearance.

Please report for summary execution, traitor.

All hail the Computer.
