Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder and the ENnies

Honestly, I almost feel like it was a bit overboard in the praise, and this is coming from a dyed in the wool edition warrior that won't touch 4e with a 10' pole and has five different Paizo subscriptions. I'm just somewhat worried that this might end up going to their heads, such as when Erik Mona got booed (rightfully so, IMO) for his "at least this year" line.

Sometimes a company sweeps an awards show, it happens in more than just RPG awards. And really, Paizo puts out a really good product. Good production quality, good writing, good art, good design. Now one might not like the "feel" or it may not be their style of game, but it is hard to deny they put out a quality product.

I must have missed the booing (there were times I had the sound turned down as I put IronPup to bed that night). Any chance it was just one of those moments where he thought it would be received as funny but it went over like a lead balloon? Or that the boo's were more of the good natured teasing boo? (I didn't hear it, very possible it was a bad taste comment with lots of real boos).

I think Lisa's way too smart and grounded to let that happen. Also, there's always the specter of TSR hanging not too far in the background.

I think Paizo is a smart, hard working company. If anything I suspect they will see the awards as all their hard work being recognized by the community in a positive way and it will just further motivate them to continue to hard work.

I felt that they put out some great stuff this year this coming from a dyed in the wool edition warrior that won't touch 3e with a 10' pole anymore (;)) and had steadfastly refused PF. I picked up the Kingmaker AP and was reminded of their great work. I've since given it another change and am quite pleased I did.

Oh, and from what I've seen of the Paizo staff, I really don't expect this to go to their heads. Unless they stop interacting with the community on a near-daily basis both here and on their own boards that is. Really awesome that way.

My prediction for next year though is that 4e Essentials will do very well. I was surprised that they had such a limited offering this year (WotC)

Aw, c'mon!

I didn't hear any booing from the stage, unless it was kind of a joke or something. I certainly wasn't trying to be a dick or anything. I just figured people were getting sick of my ugly mug on stage so many times. You sort of run out of things to say after a while, and I was trying to make a funny.

It seemed from where I was standing that the audience took it exactly as intended, but perhaps that did not come through on the live stream, or perhaps some people were genuinely offended.

If so, I'm sorry about that!

Maybe where the mic was located for the feed, a couple of guys there were booing and it sounded like more than just a handful.

The mic definitely was sensitive to just a few folks near it. There were several times during the feed where one woman's voice could be heard quite plainly over the rest of the show here and there. I could easily see it picking up one or two folks and making it sound like more than that.

It was awesome seeing the pile of medals hanging in the booth and plaques in the Society area. It feels good to support a winning team and product line.

Congratz again team!

Congrats to Paizo! The awards were well-deserved. I know that Pathfinder is the go-to system for everyone I game with these days.
