Maybe not so outside the norm. The worgs often found with goblins would be able to smell the characters' trail and probably be able to tell that they haven't actually left the scene. A goblin witch doctor (adept) may have the spellcraft necessary to dope out what happened to them with a DC 17ish roll.

You don't get to be witch doctor by ordering your warriors to build bonfires and wait around for 8 hours on the chance that the party used rope trick and not fly, teleport, etc.

Just put your rope trick over a big rock or, better yet, a small stream. No tracks! No scent! No bonfires underneath.

We can play this game all day.

The point is that Twowolves is being dismissive of an extremely common and perfectly legitimate tactic available to PCs at 3rd level. It's why the spell exists. If Twowolves has a problem with rope trick, he should ban it from his game instead of concocting ridiculous screw-job counters to the players using a spell as intended.

Twowolves' goblins are not finding the PCs because the rules allow it (unless "noticeable" is a synonym for "invisible") or even because it is the most likely occurrence. His goblins are finding the PCs because he wants them to.

Personally, I've never thought of the 15 minute adventuring day as caused by PLAYERS but actually caused by DMs IMO

This is absolutely true. That was one of the things I used to laugh at in Baldur's gate: the fact the party rested after every fight. I love those games, but there is no video games modelling 1st through 3rd edition that are accurate representations because of this.

Turn undead is a feat. Good change.

I actually feel that typical roles and setting assumptions are more threatened by #2 than by #1.

I'm more comfortable with a cleric of a fire deity throwing a fireball than I am with a rogue who decides he wants to turn undead.

I think you are misunderstanding what the feat does:

The big change here though is the Turn Undead feat. This feat allows Kyra to spend one use of her Channel Energy ability to force undead to flee from her unless they make their save. This version does not deal damage, but it can turn the tide in a battle.

It looks like this is a feat that can be taken by characters that already affect undead in order to make them flee instead of damaging them.

Eh, I'd have no problem with holy powers being available to D&D characters through a feat chain rather than through class abilities exclusively.

I dislike the flavor of god lasers though. I prefer divine powers to be self buffs, healing, auras, and divinations for the divine power niche. Zaps mesh poorly with the full armor magical holy warrior schtick for me. I hate searing light for example and ban them from my games. Flame Strike is the only clerical zap that feels right aesthetically to me along with some minor druid nature zaps.

Matter of personal taste obviously.

Well, they're very fitting with Sarenrae though. She's not just the goddess of the Sun and Fire and such, but she's an avenging angel elevated to Godhood after defeating the embodiment of chaos and destruction and is the primary LG warrior deity.
