Interesting Chris was using a laptop & iPad. I don't want to read too much into it, but could it be a signal of something to come? (I hope.)
What else would he be using when the books aren't published yet? I think this was more a sign that he was working from PDFs and picture files rather than anything more substantial.
Fair enough. I'm just watching with hopeful eyes that he was doing more than just reading off of a PDF, which is likely what he was doing. Curious though as to what tool(s) he was using for record keeping (initiative, etc) on the iPad.
My apologies, too: on re-reading my reply I could see how that could come across more harshly than I intended.
Anyway, WotC doesn't have the online tools team any more for anything fancy, and the industry/ex-staffer leaks suggest that they are unwilling to pay the salaries necessary to attract a decent online tools team, nor the management ability to actually get the best out of such a team. Of course, that's been a problem since 2000 and it is 2014 now....
The more I watch this, the more I want to jump up and flip their table over, I would be able too no problem, and scream at all of them to please stop with the interruptions with all the bad jokes and comments.
I would end up pulling my hair out if this was my group.
It's not for you.
The day some comedians can't have a laugh promoting a thing is the day the human race should collectively shoot itself in the head.
Same for the day that fans fail to realise that every promotional effort isn't directed at them personally and isn't designed as a documentary on correct gaming methods.
In short, if a particular ad or outreach doesn't tickle you personally, then just move on. If it makes you want to tip tables over and scream, the problem doesn't lie with them.
