[PbP] EoM game: the graduates of Bluetower Academy

"Hmph." Elwent closed the hatch and headed back down. "So much for that. I suppose I'll help you look around," he sighed resignedly.

He'll search just like Amisel, or just help him out via aid another if possible.

The interior of the ship is plain and dull, once you get over the fact that it's all wrong.

After about an hour the rocking motion of the storm abruptly ceases, and the sounds of the storm vanish.

Inkar, who hasn't been feeling well, goes up on deck. Me want to see sun and feel earth under my feet again...

Instead of waiting, Kera uses Prestigidation to dry off, wrapping herself in a harmless (unless you happen to be some errant H2O) cloak of flame. Then she checks out the room, apparently finding nothing.

When the storm ends, she emerges onto the deck. "Umm, hey Inkar." she says hesitantly. "Did you guys find anything down below?

OOC: Flight seems pretty easy to come by. I was thinking of using create elemental object to spell out words and ask for help.

You emerge into bright sunlight (but didn't the sun only go down a few hours ago, you wonder...). As your eyes adjust, you can see that you are standing on a mountain, the flattish peak of which vaguely resembles the deck of a ship. The "belowdecks" area is now a cave in the mountaintop.

The air is chill, but not frigid. The sides of the mountain are very steep, but look climbable. It is impossible to tell how high the mountain is because it disappears into a layer of clouds about five hundred feet below your position. The layer of clouds extends as far as the eye can see, so it looks like you're on another island, poking its way out of a white, fluffy sea. Other than the clouds below, the sky above, and the mountaintop, there is little else visible, but in the distance you can make out moving specks that might be flying creatures.

"Nothing is readily apparent. I wonder if we might rest in the bottom . . . of . . . the . . . ship? Errr . . . the cave there?" Amisel said as he steps out of the bottom of the ship and on to the mountain top.

Inkar: Examining the distant birds, you discern two flocks.
One, to the south, is composed of perhaps a dozen birds. Something you can't quite put your finger on seems very odd about them - perhaps in the way they fly.
The other, to the North, is made up of only a handful of birds, casually flying in long, graceful dives and circles.

Both groups are very distant, and little more than faint dots. You can't tell relative sizes, or even how far away they are.

"Hmm," Elwent wonders, poking his head out and raising a brow at the landscape. "Interesting. Well, I don't see anything either, aside from those birds. I'm content to rest here a while, if you wish - if we have to fly again we'll need our strength. And perhaps we can try to divine the way to the portal once we're ready."

OOC: Let's try using Divination / Intuit Direction / Scry. Either now or after resting.

OOC: That's what I was thinking. Too bad Kerra doesn't have those skills, IIRC.

"What if there's some sort of deadline on this test? The avians might only remain in the area during certain times, or one group might assault the other. We ought to learn more about this test first, then rest if the situation allows for it.
