[PbP] The Rising of a God

"We have a year for our other quest, so I guess we can manage a couple days. You got a deal, mister." I reach out my hand.

Asaewin Onerig looks at your hand with rather raised eyebrows, but shakes your hand nonetheless. "I take it you are the leader of this rabble then. Could the four... let's make that three" he corrects himself as he looks at TJ in a disapproved manner "be at King Soi's Palace Inn at noon the 2nd of Lowfall. I will meet up with you there and make sure you will be allowed to enter the auction's hall. I will tell you more about the assignment there. Now I will take my leave as I have seen enough dust for one day.

With that he turns around and makes for the door.

"That is a good deal I made, right fellows.

Having sayd that I walk over to the Innkeeper: "It looks like we are staying for three more days. If you could make it so that we can get our rooms back. And If you would like to arrange a meeting with our friend??" And I give him a meaningfull wink.

"You are staying here! But that's great! I'll arrange that your belongings will be brought back to your rooms. And I will try to arrange a meeting with your friend, although he is not one to come in contact with easily. I will do my best, but I do think he will know by now that you are not yet leaving. That said he smiles at you mysteriously and walks through the backdoor to the kitchen, while shouting to his wife, to prepare the rooms.

The room you are in is 25 feet wide and 30 feet long. There is a bar at the back with several wooden planks attached to the wall behind it, holding mainly bottles and glasses. To the left of the bar is a door which leads to the kitchen and in the left corner are stairs which lead to the guest rooms. There are several booths here and apart from the four of you, the bar is empty. The front has a rugged old wooden door in the middle with some burn marks on it and has a small round window, covered with dust on either side which give little to no light and are therefor pretty useless if one would like to look inside the inn. Gurd watches the door with fanatic interest, but no one seems to enter.

Then suddenly...

From outside laughter can be heard and all of a sudden the great wooden door slams open, with a protesting 'creak'. A sea of light engulfs those who are inside, blinding them for a couple of seconds, making them easy prey for one with evil intents...

Four somewhat drunken sailors walk in while singing loudly about a farm apparently belonging to one Old Mc Donald. One shouts Beer for the whole bar! while the others happily cheer at their mate.

I try to keep my focus watching the door, but after about ten seconds I lose intrest and Yell in a bouldering voice: "I'll have some ALE, my new friends. Let us drink."

In about five minutes I finished about four mugs worth of Ale. But since I just had an excellent breakfest I can go on like this for hours. (and it helps I'm a dwarf ofcourse) My newly earned money flows like Ale, buying the rounds that the sailors are drinking and my own ofcourse.

"Though a waste of my talents, I presume I will join you in guard duty."

As soon as the innkeep comes over with the beer, I walk up to the sailor, raise a toast, and ask him what is the joyous occasion for the round of beer for the whole tavern:

"Cheers mate! Can I ask what is the joyous occasion for the round of beer for the whole tavern?"

:D

While the rest lock their arms together along with Gurd, while swaying left to right, singing about numerous beers on the wall, the least drunken sailor throws his arm around Dweldan, and relates "We are on our shoreleave. Which will last at least two months, since our captain lost his ship during a game of dice. Or no that was not it. The ship was sunk by some wizard near the shores of Sollenia. What a sight that must have been. A whole ship, burned to the ground by a wizard. Well I for one praise him, for it is because of him we are here now" That said, he empties a beer in his mouth, and closses with a reassuring loud burp. He continues "We just rode in from Lowharbor for the festivities. As we made some money with our little smuggling deals, we are going to start the festival early this year. Here have another one!" He passes Dweldan a full glass and joins the rest in their song about a pianoman:

"Sing us a song you're the pianoman,
sing us a song tonight.
Well we're all in the mood for a melody,
and you got us feeling alright."

While the rest of the group is busy drinking themselves to death, Argos quietly shuffles back to his room to continue his study on The Arts

Stupid townies...
