How does the whole cell-phone intergratey thing work, anyways?
I don't own a cell, so I'm not sure if it would be a worthwhile expense or what...
Should I maybe wait for a combined cell/pda device?

Like the color Sidekick? Shrug...

I can write as fast with a thumb keyboard as I can with a regular keyboard... *almost*. Must be those days gone by with gameboys. I chose a thumb keyboard over the foldout because I can't always get away with writing where I work, unless I'm a bit more subtle. And I'm not sure how well you can use that fold-out keyboard standing up. That's what influenced my decision.

I have not purchased either of the keyboard attachments available for my Dell, but I can say that the handwriting recognition software works fairly well. After a brief "learning curve" I can now write text that translates with 90% or higher accuracy. I hope to get it up to >95% with continued practice.

Ok, I got a Toshiba e335 for $180.
It's in the mail.
Hm, what should I get now? A screen protector? I'll probably want a folding keyboard, so I'll check those links above again.

Also, need some DMing stuff, and general rpg stuff... Hm hm hm...
So much to look at...

If you are a linux fan, check out the Sharp Zaurus. Any of the models, really. It runs linux, so you can put all kinds of interesting stuff on it. It runs java really well, so PCGen might even work.

Jumping on the Bandwagon !!!

Sorry, I am not tring to Hi-Jack this Thread but I was wondering if you bought a PDA in the USA and brought it back to the UK, Would you still be able to use it ? I am assuming that you would, as I have friends going over the Florida for vacation and I know how Cheap Electronic equipment is over in the USA, compared to the extortionate amount we pay over here in the UK (at least double the price sometimes more !!!) so I thought they might be able to pick me up some cool stuff. Now I am aware of the different power configurations (240v UK - 110v USA)etc, between the UK and USA, but a PDA would be Battery operated ? and I was wondering if there would be a compatable International Charger or something so that the device would function ok. And can such a device be bought in the USA, rather than having to buy the charger in the UK and end up paying a ridiculous amount of money for it. The cheapest PDA I have seen over here in the UK is about £300.00 ($450.00) and it's a bit crap to say the least. Just a query...thanks for any forthcoming replys......Cheers !!!!:)

I would ask somewhere else, but without knowing anymore then I do..I would say "Yes". You would need a power converter for the charger, but other then that I can't see why not. I would ask at some tech site, like forums.anandtech.com or littleblackdog.com they might know.
