Would anyone be interested in a pdf version of the SRD for free download...I nice pdf file for all of the fully released stuff...with maybe a second containing the unreleased OGC stuff...and having them updated when the SRD is updated...

considering the "book" would contain 100 percent OGC it would be legal to publish for free on the web....

maybe even a project to work on a generic PDF that includes original OGC descriptions....and SRD rules book....and maybe an SRD Monster Book....we could even had basic artwork and whatnot....would anyone be interested in this...I'm sure it could be nice for Publishers too...it could have book marks and a table of contents (like good PDF's should,,,:D )...

Morrus?? Would you want to host a copy of the file when its done....since your site is the indeniable heavy-weight champion of unoffical d20 websites!! :p

lemme know if you are interested and/or if you would want to contribute or help... yu can email me at jerry@slavestitched.com

I'd be happy to host it. Nice hyperlinking etc. (can a pdf have search features?).

It would have to be updated every time the official version changed, but I guess that doesn't happen too often.

You know what I always thought would be useful? I guide to the SRD/d20 STL/OGL. Includes the SRD (annotated) with explnations of what you can/can't do, an intro to the d20 System, reasons why WotC have opened the system - sort of an "idiots guide".

Holee mother, that would be *so* useful....

The Newbies' Guide to The SRD. Heck, I wouldn't just download it, I'd shell out cash for it. :D

PDFs are searchable (assuming you downloaded the correct version of Acrobat) and can have external hyperlinks (IIRC). The only real question for me is internal hyperlinks: possible or impossible?

You can definitely have internal hyperlinks in a pdf. I've seen many a index/table of contents do this. It's quite handy. It's straigtforward to use them in Pagemaker, but Quark dosn't do hyperlinks as far as I know.

I think a (slightly) prettified, annotated, cross-referenced and perhaps re-organized SRD would be amazingly cool.

Perhaps itcould be sold (cheaply!) with winnings going to a good cause, the survival of these boards?
Or perhaps that is a bad idea, and not what cybernetic wanted to do?

[Edit] Or perhaps a some sort of donationware, essentially free, but if you think it is worth something donate a few <insert currency of choice> [/Edit]

That would be great!:)

Not too sure about selling it, would it be OK to compile the SRD and then making money out of it? However, I'm all for donations to help EN World running!

It's a good good idea!
I already have a PDF version of the SRD, but it's not good quality and it has no hyperlink :(
I would love a good PDF!

I found several good SRD-PDF's in Kazaa.

So you should download and look at these before you spend much time and work for your Version. Nothing is more frustrating when you find something for free when you have spent much time and Energy for it.

Have FUN!
