Pearl of Power and other CWI suggestions

I am trying to figure out if it is worth for my PC to take Craft Wondrous Items at level 6.

How does exactly work a Pearl of Power? So far I think about the following:
- you just need to carry it with you, it doesn't take up space and you can activate it while it is safe in your pocket or backpack
- it lets you recall 1/day a spell you prepared and have cast already; "on command" (I guess standard action) that spell is again available in the same slot
- if the spell was metamagicked, you recall the metamagicked version (you can't change anything that is chosen at preparation time)
- you can have as many Pearls of Power as you want
- you MUST recall a spell of the appropriate level, and cannot recall a LOWER level spell

Can you please correct my wrong assumptions? The last one is specifically unclear to me.

If you want, please give me your suggestions about other WI that I should consider to make for myself or the party. The following ones look worth to me (in order of crafting price):

500gp
Cloak of Resistance I -> +1 to all ST
Eyes of the Eagle -> +5 to Spot
Pearl of Power I -> recall a 1st level spell 1/day

1000gp
Boots of Elvenkind -> +10 to Move Silently

2000gp
Amulet of Health I -> +2 to Constitution
Gauntlets of Ogre Power I -> +2 to Strength
Headband of Intellect I -> +2 to Intelligence
Periapt of Wisdom I -> +2 to Wisdom
Cloak of Resistance II -> +2 to all ST
Ioun Stone (Dusty Rose) -> +1 to AC
Pearl of Power II -> recall a 2nd level spell 1/day
Periapt of Proof against Poison -> +4 ST vs poisons

4500gp
Cloak of Resistance III -> +3 to all ST
Pearl of Power III -> recall a 3rd level spell 1/day

5500gp
Amulet of Undead Turning -> +4 effective level for TU

8000gp
Periapt of Wisdom II -> +4 to Wisdom

I haven't considered more expensive stuff yet.
My PC is Cleric, Wild Elf, Chaotic Good, with Strength and Luck domains.

It takes a standard action to recall a spell, meaning that the PoP isn't so good for combat spells but is great for buff spells, cure spells, etc.

You may want to ask the GM if you can use it with a spontaneously cast cure spell. It is questionable as to if that is legal.

I don't think this one should be a problem... it doesn't let you cast the spell automatically, just makes it "reappear" in the slot as you have not cast it before. You still need to cast it with another action, so you can spontaneously convert it into a Cure Wounds.

edit: I repeat my post, in case I didn't make myself clear...

Some of the items you listed had a high caster level (like the Ioun Stone). You'll want to check which camp your DM is in (caster level *is* a requirement, or caster level *is not* a requirement; an often debated issue)

The list itself had a good variety of useful items. Off the top of my head, I would add an Amulet of Natural Armor and Brooch of Shielding.

Something else you'll want to check is whether your DM will allow you to create standard items with the twist of occupying a different slot. For example, a Robe of Resistance instead of a Cloak of Resistance. If so, this will open up a whole world of customization.

As to whether to take it at your current level, my answer would be a resounding *yes*, as long as you have the necessary funds and down-time to make the feat useful.

AFAIK, there is no debate... Check out Monte's article here
