People of Color in Eberron?

Legend
I was going over the Eberron book Five Nations when I found the following reference to the Keeper of the Flame, Jaela Daran.

Five Nations said:
Jaela usually drresses in simple gray or black clothes, walking barefoot on the marble steps of the Cathedral. She has gray eyes, short cropped dark hair, and a chocolate-colored complexion...

This appears to be the first reference to someone in Eberron with a skin color other than Caucasian. I was wondering though, is there a group of humans in Eberron somewhere that are dark-skinned? It doesn't appear to be on Khorvaire (at least in the Five Nations), so perhaps either in Sarlona or Seren (the dragon-barbarians)? If there is no clear-cut answer, where would be the best place to put dark-skinned humans on Eberron?

Thanks

Well, I don't know much about Eberron, but the dark-skinned people would probably be somewhere with a warm and sunny climate.

But since said warm and sunny climate was in Sarlona (Khorvaire's humans not being native to Khorvaire), it really doesn't matter.

As far as I know, there are several sources for dark-skinned humanoids in Eberron:
- All the pictures I've seen of the Seren barbarians have dark skin.
- The people of Sarlona are described as having "oriental" skin coloration.
- Talenta halflings and Valenar elves have middle eastern/mediterranean olive coloured skin.
- I always imagined the people of the Shadow Marches and Q'Barra as having darker skin.
- I think the tribes of the Demon Wastes are described as having darker skin.

Now, I'm not sure how much of this is "official", and how much is my interpretation, but that's always been may take on it...
And of course, I don't think any of this describes Jaela, so I guess there must be some dark-skinned people in Thrane as well (unless her description says she hails from elsewhere, but I don't remember that).

The humans that came to Khorvaire from Sarlona were from all over the continent, and they spread out to cover all of Khorvaire. As a result, you can find any variation of human ethnicity in any nation of Khorvaire. This was stated by Keith Baker in either a Dragonshard or the Ask Keith Baker FAQ at the WotC boards.

I believe the majority of the Thranish population is dark-skinned, though I can't quote you where I read that.

Skin color isn't specificed for the majority of NPCs, as far as I can recall. Do we know what color Kaius's skin is? Boranel?

Even the illustration on page 11 of the ECS shows a range of coloration, with 2 or 3 dusky skinned folks depicted. Some of hair skin tone pairings also seem a little unusual, which I like. I find it helps break the immediate reactive associations we make to real world cultures.

True, which is why I thought it was interesting that Jaela's DID call attention to it.

Perhaps I need to read over Thrane a bit better in the various sources, but its possible Thranish people are of darker complexion...

Is post #5 invisible?
