I saw a story in the newspaper once about a woman working in the men's department of a Macy's store in New York, I think it was. She was refolding clothes that people had been trying on to replace them on the racks. The store's background music was playing the song "Can't Buy Me Love", and she was singing softly and moving with the song. She felt someone tap her on the shoulder, and she turned around to see who it was. It turned out to be Sir Paul McCartney, and he took her hands in his and danced her through the men's department for the remainder of the song. Which I think is pretty awesome.

I'll use a "local" example: MerricB.

His posts are unfailingly friendly, honest, and optimistic.

I think he would be fun to hang out and game with for sure. He may be a tool in real life, but I doubt it.

i like atul gawande.

he's a surgeon in boston and has written three outstanding books and numerous magazine articles. one such article was so informative and useful that he was given a $20,000 thank-you gift for writing it. he donated the money to his hospital.
