D&D 5E Phandelver first game experience

So, the PCs will be newly 3rd level and heading into Thundertree next time. I've scoured the EN posts concerning that entire encounter, and i'm going to take the advice there to spruce it up.

I honestly don't see how they can take on the dragon eye to eye. Slaughter city.

WELL, my players did not do what I expected them to! Surprise, surprise. It turned out quite well actually, and I have the whole Thundertree encounter prepped for whenever they do make it there. In the meantime, they're taking the heat to the Redbrands without mercy.

Ok, we hadn't played in 2 weeks. This is session #6 of Lost Mine. There's probably some editing snafus, i ripped this one off pretty quick and didn't go back to edit.

I suspect they will ally with the dragon. Or, at least secure the eggs somehow (wherever the eggs are, i don't even know yet) and then let the dragon know, and let the dragon get revenge on the cultists while they quietly question Reidoth and then get the heck outta Dodge.

I absolutely love how Cragmaw Castle turned out. I edited this photo about an hour before the game. You can't tell from the writeup, but it created a lot of interesting strategy and ideas about how to get inside. Which ultimately ended up with all the ad-hoc shenanigans at the base of the castle. I was just making it up as i went along.

Personally, I feel like TLMOP should be remembered as a classic low level D&D adventure. It's really good.

I have enjoyed running it for my players. They have really made a name for themselves in Phandelin (SP). The towns folks have selected the fighter to be the new mayor, while the rouge has joined the harpers. A few fighting men from Calimport have heard of their deeds and has traveled to Phandelin to pledge themselves. They havealso acquired the deed to the rebrands old hideout and are now rebuilding it into a small keep. They just finished Thundertree and headed to craqmaw. Its been really fun.
