Thanks. Now to get someone who speaks spanish here to look at the site with me, figure out how to order for shipping to US (if possible), how to pay....but it can be done, I believe.
Since my wife ran the program to bring Spanish speakers to help in our school, we got to meet a lot of Central and South Americans (and a few Spaniards) ove the last few years. The way the groups teased each other, or even felt superior, over their language skills and dialects was always interesting. Americans have this picture that "others" are all the same. I like this aspect of our kids' school - they really get to see how people are different, and yet the same.
Mi ex-esposa habla portugués, yo no recuerdo nada.
And now the translation:
We who speak Spanish know the VAST differences in accents, intonation, etc. Don’t feel bad iwatt, in Puerto Rico we have our own peculiarities, to us it sounds like other Spanish speakers speak with a sing song yet to many foreigners I know wit is us who sound like that. And don’t get me started with the horrors of words taken from English!
I’ve seen copies of the PHB in Spanish and it does not seem that bad. Kalus I know next to nothing about the Portuguese version as I have not seen it. My ex-wife speaks Portuguese, but I don’t remember anything. Klaus that was pretty good for someone that doesn’t speak Spanish. Goes to show how much our languages are alike.
