PHB in Spanish

I've learned english while reading AD&D books. Now I learn spanish and I'm very happy to see 3,5e in this language.

I have to warn you that the Spanish versions of PHB are PLAGUED by errors.

And some are not even translation errors: like having Stinking Cloud have a Will save instead of a Fortitude save.

Wow sfedi, I was unaware of that… I must admit I took a cursory look and mostly at the races and classes I did not go into spells. I’ve always wanted a PHB in Spanish. There was a store here in Puerto Rico briefly that sold them even cheaper in Spanish that English. Should have struck then!

How's about, in Portuguese both the Duelist and the Swashbuckler have the same name: Duelista. So you can be a Duelista/Duelista, if you're a Swashbuckler/Duelist!

I abhor most of the Portuguese translations used...

just a comment about translation which amused me big time:

english speakers (example: my southafrican english literature teacher) don't seem to get the correspondence until someone explains it.

Para mi, Calabozos y Dragones (C&B) no tiene la misma mistica que Dungeons and Dragons. Llamar a alguien Maestro de Calabozos (CM), si es que me acuerdo bien de mis manuales de 2e, es peor aun.


And on messageboards, I sometimes use jajaja instead of hehehe, although it's a dead give away of my foreign status. I say the spanish laugh is heartier and more manly though

iwatt, I agree!

It just goes to show how Puerto Rico is in a strange flux between our relation with the US and our Hispanic roots that when I write laughter I do it “jejejeje”.
