I LOVE ENWorlders!
Aw, shucks ma'am. It ain't nuthin'.
There is a professional sound system, but other than that, I've no idea, and probably won't be able to find out until the day of. If possible, come by the booth Friday at 2pm, and you can join the tech team heading over to scope out the venue.
I'm in a game until 4:00. Can I get in late on the scouting mission? The ENnies don't start until 9:00, right? What I really need to find out is whether there is an "out" feed on the sound system that I can jack right into the camera. I'm guessing that there is but making sure that it's plug can talk to my camera's jack is another matter. Is there anybody I can talk to in advance about this?
If you don't mind burning extra DVDs, that'd be fabulous! Put the ENnies down for buying three copies (one for me, one for Gen Con, one for Russ). Anyone else can buy them at whatever price you deem suitable.
As for ENWorlder shots, don't forget to drop by the Canadiana Suite on Wednesday night for the get-together!
No problems. What I'll probably try and do is to make two separate tapes. One of ENWorlders just saying "hi" (maybe giving a shout out to the folks who couldn't make it this year) and some general footage of the Wednesday night gathering and another of the ENnies proper. That way if folks only want one or the other then they can purchase it separately.
One final thing that I should note is that the kind of videos that my job requires that I make are not fancy. I'm not trying to put myself forth as something that I'm not. There will not be any cool graphics or subtitles or extensive menus on these videos. I'm just not set up right now to provide any of that stuff and it would likely take time that I can't afford to spend on it anyway. Expect very good quality video, hopefully excellent sound (depending on what we can arrange on site) and very bare bones production values. With that in mind, if anybody out there IS set up to provide the fancy graphics and wants to take over this job, I'm happy to let you do it.
