The Geek Talk & Media forum seem to cover a wide array of topics. I know Photography isn't directly linked to TTRPG and geek hobbies, but it's something I've started two years ago. It marries two things that I really like: technology and art. It's been a great creative outlet when life got a bit tougher and I didn't have the mental capacity to GM or run games. You go out in the sun, you breath some fresh air, and you become hyper-aware of your surroundings trying to see interesting things. It really grounded me and it's been really beneficial to my mental health.

I photograph all kind of stuff. A lot of it is boring (not to me!) but the process is more important than the result for me. I do have a few plans to try and marry photography and TTRPG, namely a modern TTRPG where I use photography for visuals. That project is not for now but I've done a few tests already.

I'm curious if there's other photographers here. We can talk about gear, things we like to photograph, etc.

Sorry for the short post earlier.

Nice! For fun? For work?
Both!

How long have you been shooting?
I suppose you could say all my life? I remember taking snaps with whatever cameras my family had growing up. I took a proper photography course at college in 1999. We learned to shoot with an SLR, develop the film, make our own prints in the darkroom, etc.

I now have two DSLRs: my trusty old Canon 550D and a newer 90D. I think I still have my old film camera somewhere, but I haven't used it in over 20 years.

Here are a few of my digital photography galleries on Behance:

I used to be active on Flickr but it's been years since I last logged in over there.

On the TTRPG and photography front I took this shot, in 2011, to introduce an encounter to my players. I used a 23" LCD as my "video wall" for the background.
