Phrases to incite riots

First Post
A woman with her young son guides a Cleric and his two companions to a gravesite.

“My husband he was buried right over there.” She points to a hole in front of the tombstone. The priest nods his head with understanding. "what could have happened to him?" She looks to the priest for reassurance.

The Viking Rune Master ponders for a moment and suggests “necromancy?”. The woman’s worried face turns to one of horror.

Oblivious to this the barbarian highlander pipes in with “Maybe grave robbers?”

The woman looks around in terror. Looking at the priest, “Necromancers?” She runs off dragging her son after her.

Only with some luck another party member stopped her before she could send the whole town into hysterics.

"Grave robbers? No way! The body was probably dug up, desecrated, and then devoured by werewolves. Probably his angry ghost will be back to punish you for not watching the grave better. Oh well, thanks for showing us - good night!"

THINGS A WANDERING ADVENTURER SHOULD NEVER SAY TO A GROUP OF PEASANTS

"Hail, stupid peasant! We are here to steal your beer and enjoy your women!"

"You there! Which way to the harlots?"

"Would anyone miss the storekeeper very much?"

"You there! There are two Ogres chasing me!! Where's the best place to hide?"

Riots have to have a build up, it is not just something that goes off, it sits on a stove and boils. What has happened is that the match has been lit, now the woman will tell her friends, people will start blaming Necromancers for any bump in the night, people will start wanting protection and wondering why nothing is being done. Something will happen and someone will say "We sould do something!"

Sadly this actually happened in our current campaign. I got to play PC clean-up after this particular social blunder.

After walking into a lively tavern, "I don't like this song. May the Goddess strike down upon this bar with great vengeance and furious anger!"
