Piecemeal Armor?

Hey again all,

Is anyone aware of any piecemeal rules for 3.0/3.5? I remember they had them back in AD&D and I was wondering if they might have been carried over in some supplement or other d20 publication or even in a home-brew setting.

theres Sectional Armour in Complete Warrior,or was it some other book, either way still a good book to check out.
