Pinning and moving in a grapple

I suspect that this is a carry over from 3.0E where a pin lasted until broken.
The 3.0 rules read:
"Pin: A character can hold an opponent immobile for 1 round. "

While I personally view the writer's intent (in both 3.0 and 3.5) as having the pin last until broken, many people disagree.

My apologies, I didn´t mean to sound rude.

No worries there, I just felt a reflexive action to say "my post was a guess, not a solution."

Dam fine topic though, it's a real stumper.

EDIT: If the successful pin holds the opponent immobile for one round, how is it that the pinned creature gets a chance to break the pin on their turn? Shouldn't they have to skip their next turn if they are held, pinned, for ONE ROUND? One round is the time from one turn to the next, right?

Seems more accurate to say that you can hold a pin until any other action breaks that pin...

Wow, that's worded poorly!

Not only that, but because of this, any action you can make while you are pinning an oponent, is only doable if you have iterative attacks/grapple checks.
And then, only if those options/actions are attacks, not Standard Actions (as moving a pinned creature is).
