Pathfinder 1E Planar Aegis and spell resistance.

Does Spell resistance apply to the damage dealt by the spell Planar Aegis?

And isn't Planar Aegis just strictly better (more damage, more options) than fire shield?

The spell seems almost too good. Especially if it ignores SR. Of course, I'm playing an occultist and it's the same level as fire shield for them...

No idea about spell resistance, but I think the most limiting factor of this spell is the material components. Looking at the spell it looks like it is set up for plane hopping campaigns where you can grab material from a plane with the dominant traits.
