Planar Ally spells & Vow of Poverty?

Payment could also be in the form of a share of the treasure at the end of the current mission. Or the caster's share of the treasure if the rest of the party doesn't want to have to pay something that may benefit them. Of course, the outsider has to judge if the risk of nothing is worth more or less than the possiblity of a major haul. Lawful/Chaotic alignment might play a role here.

To me this seems much more in line with the concept of the Planar Ally spells in the first place. Giving them a flat fee upfront is more in line with the Planar Mercenary spells.

The cleric in question is an NPC so completing a service isn't in doubt. The problem is an NPC racking up a number of services that has the potential to distract from the actions of the rest of the players.

I guess the real problem lies with the vagueness of Vow of Poverty. It doesn't say what happens to the character's share of party treasure. Does the character forfeit any share (thereby giving the rest of the party more) of treasure, or does the character simply have to give away his share (which can have benefits in that donations often result in improved relations; thereby constituting a "benefit" that IMO the restrictions of the feat aim to restrict).
