really this is exactly what I was looking for. did you just come up with this out of thin air?

Yep, thought it was inspired by some aliens in a book I read.

Planar Skill: This guy would be happy making the deserts of his home planet green, though he'd also be content to start gardens on the plane of Elemental Fire, or sowing flowers in the Abyss.

As to inter-planar Transport Via Plants -- that sounds like a separate PrC, more like the Wayfarer PrC (Wizardly PrC from Tome & Blood).

Glad you like it John. I'm working on a list of spells that are directly related to the PRc and the Verdant Lord PRc.
the first is a spell called Plant Assimilation.
I don't have the specs as of yet but the idea is that the druid can become attached to the plant in question. He would gain the plants attacks and defences (if any) and the plant ges to move and feeds off the druid.
An example is say the druid in on an elemental plane and needs to survive with out the use of long term elemental protection magics. He casts Plant Assimilation on a near by native plant and for the duration of the spell (hours per level.) he is considered a native of the plane.
Another is the druid needs to reach something at a distance. he assimilates an assassin vine and uses it's long coils to reach the object or person.
(remember this is in the working stages.)

Why not tie it to Wild Shape? A normal Druid could Wild Shape into an elemental at this level -- which would grant him the ability to survive indefinately on an Elemental Plane.

So, how about a Grafted Wildshape Feat -- it allows a Verdant Lord (who's already a plant) to graft himself onto a pre-existing plant, thereby animating it and gaining its powers & resistances himself. However, if the plant in question is immobile, he's rooted to the spot UNLESS he's at least one size larger than the plant in question.

Besides Bolo is a halfling.

There are plenty of cool flowers. ;)

A Tiny bouquet of Razorvine would make a nice "bladed gauntlet" replacement.

Many interesting plants are mobile, though.
