Planetouched Armor Proficiencies

The question below about tieflings and aasimar was asked by 2 different people and I have copied the text here. I believe they have a point and was asking for other interpretations/opinions.

The Outsider trait description reads (after the first sentence)
"Outsiders not indicated as wearing armor are not proficient with armor."
Combined with the idea that as PCs they start out with nothing but the starting pack for their class, and MM p209 & 210 in the Racial Feats, the wizard mentioned below would not be proficient with any armor.

The MM says (p209-210) in its As Character section
that "Racial Feats: An (Planetouched Here)gains feats according to it's
class levels." Does this mean that, since armor proficiencies are
feats, that a level 1 Tiefling Wizard would not be proficient with light
armor?

Of COURSE NOT! Why would a wizard be proficient with armor just because he is a tiefling? The entire thing you just wrote says,

"Planetouched do not gain feats unless granted by their class"

Fighters, Paladins, Rangers, etc are the classes that get armor proficiency

However, you CAN wear leather armor or MW studded leather. Of course you have to take the Armor check penalty. That's right, the -0 armor check penalty affects your attack rolls, ride checks, etc. The only thing to worry about is spell failure.

Planetouched are proficient with armor based on their class levels.

Basing their (potential) armor proficiencies off the MM entry is pretty meaningless: the armor they're using there they are proficient with by virtue of being a level 1 Warrior.
