In resposne to another thread (link) regarding using Achievements as rewards and incentives to help newbies learn 4e game mechanics.

Here is some crunch I cam up with:

Player Achievement Powers
Achievement powers are small rewards to encourage and teach mechanics of 4e.

An Achievement power awarded to a player may be kept until activated, and are non-transferrable.

All Achievement powers are single use consumables, and can only be awarded once per character.

Whenever a Player Achievement Power is used, in addition to the use of the power, the player gains XP equal to a minion of the player's level - 2 (min 1).

First At Bat (Consumable)
Req: First in Initiative order.
No Action: Add an untyped +1 to an initiative roll after the roll.

Saving Retribution (Consumable)
Req: Make a saving throw vs on-going damage.
No Action: Add an untyped -1 penalty to the result of an enemy making a saving throw.

On your Feet (Consumable)
Req: Regain positive hitpoints after being at 0 or fewer hitpoints.
No Action: Gain Regen 1/2/3 (tiered) until the end of an encounter.

Brutal Bloodletting (Consumable)
Req: Bloody an enemy
No Action: Re-roll 1 damage die (non-crit, non-cleass feature), must take the new result.

Down the Hatch (Consumable)
Req: Administer a healing potion to an unconcious player.
No Action: After an enemy makes an attack roll, add an untyped +1 to the targeted defense.

Thermopylaen Offense (Consumable)
Req: Bull Rush an enemy off a ledge with a drop of 10 feet or greater.
No Action: Affter an enemy makes an attack roll, gain an untyped +1 to all defenses until the begining of your next turn.

Thermopylean Defense (Consumable)
Req: Use Total Defense.
No Action: Increase the range of a Basic Attack by 1 for a single attack.

Timely Diversion (Consumable)
Req: Use Aid Attack.
No Action: Add an untyped +1 to the result of a saving throw.

Monster in the Middle (Consumable)
Req: Hit an enemy granting you combat advantage due to flanking.
No Action: Shift 1 square.

Keep the Engine Running (Consumable)
Req: Kill a minion.
No Action: Move up to 1/2 your speed.

You Think That's Air You're Breathing? (Consumable)
Req: Succeed in granting an ally thier Second Wind via the Heal Skill.
No Action: An automatic normal success for a death saving throw you make.

Patch 'Em Up (Consumable)
Req: Stabilize an ally using the Heal Skill
No Action: Re-roll your death saving throw, use either result.

That Looks Like It Hurts... (Consumable)
Req: Grant a saving throw to an ally via the Heal Skill.
No Action: You gain an additional saving throw versus death during an encounter.

Does This Look Infected? (Consumable)
Req: Fully cure an ally of a Disease.
No Action: Re-roll a saving throw, taking either result.

Swan Dive... Into the Best Adventure of Your Life! (Consumable)
Req: Successfully Perform an awesome Acrobatic Stunt approved by the DM.
No Action: Re-roll any skill check, keep either result.

I'm on a Horse! (Consumable)
Req: Aqcuire a mount.
No Action: Add an untyped +1 to a Bluff, Diplomancy, Intimidate, or Charisma check while mounted.

Coffee Break (Consumable)
Req: Take Ten
No Action: Re-roll a skill check. Must take new result.

Book Wyrm (Consumable)
Req: Succeed in a Monster Knowledge check and learn Common Knowledge.
No Action: Add an untyped +1 to a Monster Knowledge Check.

Dating the Hot Librarian (Consumable)
Req: Succeed in a Monster Knowledge check and learn Expert Knowledge.
No Action: Add an untyped +2 to a Monster Knowledge Check.

Conan the Librarian (Consumable)
Req: Succeed in a Monster Knowledge check and learn Master Knowledge.
No Action: Add an untyped +3 to a Monster Knowledge Check.

It's The Sudden Stop At The End... (Consumable)
Req: Reduce falling damage by 16 points via trained Acrobatics check.
No Action: Jump Down 20 feet once during an encounter.

Flying Guilotine (Consumable)
Req: Move your speed and then Charge, leaping over difficult terrain.
No Action: Add an untyped +1 bonus to speed on your turn once during an encoutner.

Flash! Flash Gordon! (Consumable)
Req: Run your speed and then Charge, leaping over difficult terrain.
No Action: Add an untyped +1 bonus to speed until the end of the encounter.

Kneel Before Zod (Consumable)
Req: Successfuly Intimidate a bloodied enemy into surrendering (DM's Discretion).
No Action: Add an untyped +1 bonus to a damage roll.

Touchy Feely (Consumable)
Req: Grab an enemy.
No Action: Make a Melee Basic Attack against any enemy that shifts away from you.

Stay Close, Ready, Ready... Get Her! (Consumable)
Req: Ready an Action
No Action: Gain 2 Temporary Hit Points.

I Love It When A Plan Comes Together! (Consumable)
Req: Delay your Turn
No Action: Gain 5 Temporary Hit Points.



Feel free to add more. Remember, small rewards to encourage tactics and fun play.
