If you think smashing doors is bad, just wait until they decide to start carrying picks and digging new tunnels in your dungeons.
DM: "Okay, you've been going at it for a while now and are starting to make noticeable progress...you've gone about two feet. Everybody make an Endurance check to see if you lose a healing surge from the exhausting work and I'm going to need Perception checks to see if anybody notices the tiny fractures that are making their way up the wall and to the ceiling overhead. Oh, and do any of you have a canary written down on your character sheet?"
Players: "Err..."
DM: "Okay, now that we're done with that nonsense can we get on with the adventure?"
