I'll agree that the eldritch knight is a disappointment (unless it got significantly reworked). But if you're trying to play Kaladin, you should be using a magic class anyway. Surgebinding is not a martial skill.

Looking at the Tavern Brawler feat, they changed it from 1d6 in the Alpha, to 1d4"in the actual phb.
But if you're trying to play Kaladin,
Every character I've ever made is trying to be Kaladin. The newer ones just have the benefit of knowing it.

Kaladin as a warlord seems a bit of a stretch. Came across as more of a Chaladin to my mind.... that the Warlord stuff for the Battle Master is very strictly limited (goodbye visions of Kaladin from the Stormlight Archive!),
