To echo tiornys, I think the main issue with the psionic classes is that the powers don't really get better as you level (with a few exceptions). With the other classes, you dump your low-level encounters for new ones which are unequivocally better (in the majority of cases). With the higher-level psionic at-wills, it seems more like they have narrower applications than the level 1's, and they cost more to augment. While the higher-level powers do slightly more damage when augmented, none of the PP classes are strikers, so...

Once you get over level 20. You still don't see these powers doing more damage, which is usually default for other classes level 1 at wills. Thats whats disappointing.

Psion is missing some at wills that just do more damage, when you augment them. I don't expect there to be enough powers that you can make a psion that only damages and no control, but it wouldn't hurt for a psion to have a power that he could augment and do extra dice of damage. more than just 1d8 extra in paragon teir. (Augment 2, for 2 more dice, and augment 4 for 5 more dice.)

Not all powers need to be focused on control (the wizards powers aren't) With no available powers that do meaningful damage then pisons are going to choose them purely based on the control effect. Thats what usually happens with psions in my campaign.

Ardents and Battleminds play well psions need work.

I don't feel psionics are really more versatile, myself. The augments tend to be your at-will, only better. At least with encounter powers you can take a power that does something different from your at-wills.

We had an Ardent in our group. I was fairly impressed with him, honestly. It was a capable class.

We also had a Battlemind that gave me headaches with Brutal Barrage.

I'm in the, "Eh, it's another class." category, myself. I think the easiest fix is just to make all Augments 1 or 2, and max out PP at 8 or 10.
