I dont know if this is the right place to ask and i am pretty new to the forum (thus the 1 post count when i posted this thread) but is there anyone out there who can help me with the aids included with this campaign? I have downloaded it from the official site (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20020121x9) but the playing aids section is missing. I dont know if im just a nub for not seeing it but i cant see it...

Can anyone help me out? Somewhere i can download it or someone who can send it to me? Im mostly looking for the Events Records.

Thanks in advance and if required, sorry for the noobness :o

There was AIDS spread in the product? Well .. there are some medications, but there's no cure.

EDIT: His EDIT made this even unfunnier ..

I knew there would be some of these replies... LOL

Well, i think thats the spelling of the word aid in plural? YOu must excuse me, English is not my first language :) Anyway, really hope there is anyone out there old enough to own these items so i can get my hands on them.. still waiting for replies :)

Numion is from Finland. ;)

well, keep searching, someone out there will know where to find what you need...

Slowly but surely im getting the idea that GMing this campaign as a first time GM is a bit hard. Im searching my ass of for this stuff. I dont get why the official people will make this available for download without supplying those items? I think it kinda important to know the sequence of events within a campaign especially a very specific campaign like this one.. ah well, back to the search. Thnx for the support BOZ, please let there be a old person out there who knows/owns this campaign!

The suspense is immense... im going nuts trying to find these "missing" items. This is the last time i bump this thread... sorry. May it fade into oblivion if noone else replies... but just in case, "Help me please!"

You used the right word; the only problem is that you typed it in all caps.

I'm not precisely sure what you're missing. Did you download just the module, or did you download all the files on that page? If you notice, it's split up into Module, Maps (1 and 2), Cover, and Cards (or you can download the whole thing as a 14 MB file). The version I have has the Tarokka cards, the maps, and the part designated as "Playing Aids" in the table of contents is actually in the module .pdf at the end- after the appendices (the sections titled Combined Monster Statistics, Player Description Cards, Cargo Roster, Adventure Plot/Event Chart, Townspeople/Transpossession Roster, and The Alchemist's Tale).

It looks complete to me, but then, I've never seen the original, so I can't be 100% sure.

That being said, I know I've only quickly read through the module, but it the way it is organized definitely seems like it isn't going to be easy for new DMs to run (or even old ones!). It seems rather confusing to me, and I've been playing the game for ages.

You might see if there are any threads by Quasqueton here at ENWorld for some suggestions (he does a lot of those threads about old modules; don't know if he's done this one offhand).

Also, check the Fraternity of Shadows. There's some errata to the module as well as some reviews.

Thnx cthuludrew. The playing aids section is sadly missing because eventhough there are some items like youve mentioned after the appendices, there is no Events Record which tells the sequence the events are meant to be played in. There is a Advetures Plot and Events Log but that only covers about 3-4 events, the rest are not even mentioned. The events also dont appear to happen in chronological order so its kinda weird for me...

I will definitly search for Quasquetron's stuff and will visit that other link. Thanks for the help so far. Keep it coming if someone has the "shining one answer" -> "oh yeah, i had the same problem. Ill mail the missing pieces to you koos" :) You know what i mean ;)

Edit: I have tried to search some of his (Quasqueton) stuff and found that i am unable to search as i am not a community supporter :) Along with this, i did visit that link and found nothing there. Ah well, was worth a try Drew. Anyone else got anything?

I have that module. Assuming that I am not missing anything, it contains:
1. cover (including monster statistics chart and Map # 2: House on Gryphon Hill)
2. 48 page booklet
3. poster map, with Mordentshire on one side and the Heather House on the reverse.
4. some handouts that appear to have been once connected to the poster map but which it looks like I separated when I was younger. They include:
-The Alchemist's Tale, a double sided journal with two larger pages and four smaller pages lettered A-D.
-Transpossession Roster of Townspeople and Creatures of the Night
-Adventure Plot/Event Chart. Most of the stuff is too involved for typing out, but if it helps I can explain these two a bit. I'm not sure if the material therein would be considered spoilers but will put it in spoiler tags just in case
The Adventure Plot is just a bunch of blanks for you to fill in Strahd's goal, the guise he is acting in, and the locations of the Apparatus, Soul Sword, diary, rod, ring, and missing entries.

Above the Event Chart, it states that the storm happens on day if the PCs are not making progress, but that otherwise you should build up to it as they approach Gryphon Hill. "The storm builds in this order B>A>C>E>F>G>I>J. Storm"

The chart proper includes the following events:

Day 1
6 am:7e
8 am: 1
p am: 6
noon: 3
1 pm: 7d
4 pm: 6
7 pm: 5*

There is no apparent indication of what the asterisk means next to every occurrence of event # 5. I hope this helps.
