EST here, 4PM works for me. Got a late start on my day but I can/will catch up or clear the time.

Pulling from a list of ideas I've done nothing with ... Firbolg cleric. I'm not deeply committed--if someone has a strong preference that conflicts with this, I'll do something else.

It doesn't really matter - but I did say for the sake of this experiment we'd stick to core classes/races.

Oh. I must have skimmed over that. Sorry.

Dragonborn cleric, then--I have that idea kicking around, too. I'll even stick with PHB dragonborn for this.

MST, so 4:00 EST shouldn’t be a problem. With a fighter/mage, a paladin, a ranger, a rogue, and a cleric, it’s looking like there’ll be a fair bit of competition over str and dex, with wis and cha also well-represented. The smart move would probably be Wizard, but I also like the idea of a moon druid who dumps physical attributes and compensates with wild shape… Forrest gnome, of course… Yeah, I think the latter appeals to me more.

Awesome. I think that is everyone. I have the stats ready to go. . . and remember, if it matters to your choices - assume that all characters regardless of lineage will have a floating +2/+1 or +1/+1/+1 ASI.

"See you" at 4 pm EST

I think having some stats be competitive and others not so much is what adds the spice. I'm leaning paladin, but if I see a juicy high stat floating around in my 5th position I'll absolutely jump ship.

Oh, yeah, I’ll build whatever I’m able to draft good stats for, this is just my initial thinking based on what others have expressed. But I do think a character who can safely dump strength and can get away with fairly low Dex and con will be a strong option regardless.

The worst thing that happens if you screw it up is you play a moon druid or a wizard. :)

Okay, here we go - the first stat draft (remember we'll be going through this twice, with one set being for a character you'd ostensibly be playing and the other set going in a pool for replacement characters).

STRDEXCONINTWISCHAWLD
15161415151512
14131213141311
12121212121211
11111011111110
10109101099
8987988

Drafting order in the first round is as follows:
  1. @prabe
  2. @Baron Opal II
  3. @Charlaquin
  4. @Swarmkeeper
  5. @TwoSix
  6. @FitzTheRuke
In the next round, you will pick in order of the who chose the which scores from lowest (first) to highest (last) with ties being broken by going in reverse order of the previous round if necessary.

In order to claim a score, simply post with your choice. For example "STR 8" or "WLD 12" - remember you don't have to declare which stat a wild score will go into until the end of the draft. Oh, and one more rule, that I am not sure I said explicitly (but will go back and edit the rules now to make clear), once you have chosen a score for a particular ability, you may not choose a score of that ability again.

I'll be updating this post by using strikethrough on the chosen numbers and will do a round up (no pun intended) at the end of each round so it is clear what the order for the next round will be.

Ok, Prabe, you're up first.

Okay, it should now be fixed - I don't think this would change @prabe's first choice. . .

Quick clarification, since I don’t see any scores above 16 in this set, are 17s and 18s possible?

In the past I did have 17s and 18s - but part of what I want to experiment with is what people come up with when 17s or 18s are only possible with ASIs. Edit to add: The numbers will be different in the second draft.
