Along with this message you should find an attachment. It's a zipped up PDF file containing a modified version of the SRD dragon general information. You're welcome to take a look at it and pass on what you think. As time goes by I'll be expanding on the beast, starting with the black dragon and continuing on through all the SRD dragons. When the chromatics are done (which could take awhile, considering how I'm doing dragons) I'll be making it available in RTF as well for people to mess with. This is a work in progress, and as such really isn't ready for prime time. Please keep that in mind before you decide to adopt any changes I've made. Depending on feedback there could be some serious changes.

With that in mind here is General Dragon Information. Let me know what you think.

Well I like it so far MM. I just have not had the time to go though it all. I'm also waiting for "more" so i can take it all in a braoder context.

Ten downloads and no replies. It can't be that good.:)

(The price of being perfect, no feedback.:p)

Anybody try using the stuff yet?
You do realize you have to include the OGL in everything you distribute that uses OGC, don't you? Even this PDF needs a full copy of the OGL and a proper section 15. The little note you make at the front of the PDF is insufficient.

Swallow Whole: allowed weapon size should be one size category less than the swallowed creature. After all if a colossal dragon swallows a Huge creature, what are the odds the huge creature is carrying a tiny weapon?

Feats: Why by age? No other creature gains feats per year. What's wrong with leaving it based on hit dice?

OGL: My bad. When the first seven pages of the black dragon section are done I'll include it. The format for each dragon will be one or two pages of general information on the species, plus one page (at least) for each age category. In depth dragon info.

Swallowing Critters: You're right. Then again, I don't use colossal dragons.:D Since you do, figure that a swallowed beast can use a weapon two sizes smaller than it. I'll be changing the wording to reflect that for Small and smaller weapon using munchies.

Feats: Made sense to me. I figure that monsters with more hit-dice than the usual are older versions, grown larger over time. It's a case of experience leading to greater capability. It also helps to make dragons even more dangerous. In my opinion, people really should give some serious thought to the endeavour before they send their PCs out to face a dragon.

Thanks for the feedback. Post more when you can.

I was going to bump this thread yesterday, but things happened. So you're getting the bump today.

Playing With Dragons 2 will be posted this weekend, and will include basic information for the first six age categories for black dragons. The general dragon information will be revised, and the OGL will be included this time around.

When all 36 parts of the black dragon chapter is done I'll see about making it available as a free download at RPGNow. Yes, it will go into detail.:D

Again, feedback is appreciated, and will get you credit in the document.

Once again things go a tad astray. So expect the revised General Dragon Information by Tuesday at the earliest. Reformating is proving to ba bigger pain than I had thought. But, when it's finally done, it'll be a tighter document than before.

So be patient and things will work out alright.
