I thought the rules defining what makes up a deletion encounter were being redefined and thus by default deletions occur in multiples of four now?

EDIT: Upon further thought ...

Although, from what I understand it will be easier to assemble a deletion, two warnings, and a three day suspension with greater ease. [Not that I'm personally asking for such a thing, mind you!]

No, the thread can still advance after the sixth post -- but only by single words, and nobody gets postcount for it any more.
I think you're confusing Effective Post Count (EPC) with Post Count Level (PCL). They are not the same thing. You also have to scale it if the thread involves more than four posters.

And it is exactly this gamist approach to posting that threatens the verisimllitude of the simulationist approach to posting (that it should be a perfect digital analog to a face-to-face conversation). You're too wrapped up in the mechanics and not on the role-playing.

In fact, deleting only encourages this gamism, and obviously you're playing wrong.

And you shouldn't forget True Post Count (TPC) which includes also the posts in threads that have already been deleted.

Nowadays posters feel entitled to get a deletion just by asking for it... in older threads you had to work for it and if you failed you just had to roll a new post and didn't complain about it... all this easy deletions and the removal of power from the moderators have totally ruined the sense of wonder for me...

I see EN World too has started to delete posts; it must be to attract more casual spammers and casual readers, forgetting those who spammed and flamed for years!
