Using this ability is a standard action?

Otherwise, it's the same as Divine Might. As free action, it rocks. Well, it does if your GM is throwing around Fort save or Die death spells.

And the duration... well which high level combat takes longer than two rounds?

it's a pathetic feat, and is so flawed that WotC should be embarrased that it got in one of their official classbooks.

No one - I repeat, NO ONE would take this feat.
There are so many better feats and spells out there, why didn't they make this a more unique ability?

Answer: they don't have that much creativity/cahones to do so.

Feats are very limited for clerics and paladins, the limited duration, the fact that it's limited to one save, and the fact that it's got a useless prereq feat (if you are going to be using divine feats, it's more economical and effective to raise your charisma (and thus your number of turns per day) then to take extra turning), all lead me to rate this as a useless feat.

Useless, utterly useless.

This feat has a much too short duration to be worthwhile. Spending an action during combat for a small bonus is foolish. Casting a Prayer or Dispel Magic almost certain to be more effective.

Furthermore, nasty Fort-based AoEs are rather rare so the large radius of effect won't be very useful in real play. You will feel like an idiot if you spend an action with this feat only to see the Demon hit the entire party with Fear.

Feats are too precious to Paladins and Clerics to waste on this.

I think it deserves a '1' without even considering the prereqs.

I think that the people have spoken, and I am speaking with them.

Nobody should ever take this feat!

Gimli, The Fellowship of the Ring

**WARNING: MINOR LOTR SPOILER**

Completely off topic but you need to change your sig. Somebody did toss a dwarf and none other than Gimli, son of Gloin :D

Just love the Jackson moives ;)

As for Divine Cleansing, unless it fits in your character concept, I wouldn't bother with it. A lot more useful feats exist out there.

I gave it a 2

When I stated playing a cleric in my curent campaign I looked at the Defenders of the Faith and was mostly disappointed. Particularily at the Feats.
When deciding which Feats I chose I take the long view, I only get so many so plan ahead. This coupled with the shear Voulume of them its neccissary to be cautious when steping nito something 'nonstandard'. In the case of this (and the other defenders Feats) I could think of few reasons to choose them over Dodge, mobility, combat casting, or Expertise. and since this would take me to 6th level minimum, then I'm waisting my time with it.

my 2 cents
