Please... Stop the madness! (Subscribed Thread Emails)

    So apparently, I cannot figure out what settings to set and what switches to switch to make the board STOP sending me an email every time a thread I have subscribed to is updated.
    I have attached my subscribed threads page and my options page, so you can see what I have set...

    If anyone has a clue what I'm doing wrong, please, PLEASE let me know...

Doesn't "subscribed" mean "please send me an email when this thread is updated"? I'm not totally sure, but if that is the case, then by subscribing you are specifically stating that you want the emails.

Then again, I could be wrong.

Why not change the email addy you use for the boards to a free Hotmail or Yahoo account? Then you never need look at it.

I wanted to post that suggestion in another thread, but if someone wants to email you - you might never read it.

I seem to remember that it used to send only one e-mail between visits, no matter how much updates there were in the thread.

    Hmmm... I never even considered that possibility.

    When the boards were at the ENWorld address, I subscribed to threads that I wanted to show up in my User Control Panel, and I never got any emails. The emails started coming when the boards moved to the Cyberstreet address. I assumed it was due to something weird in the configuration (since Adlon admitted that there might be "weirdness" until he got all of the bugs with PHP/mySQL worked out). I figured they would go away once those issues were worked out. The boards seem to be extremely stable, the cookies login bug has been fixed... I thought the emails would have stopped by now.

    Can anyone else confirm that yes, subscribing to a thread involves getting email?

Well, you never got email at the old site because email was disabled. We had to if we wanted to cut back on server load!
