Plot to blow up transatlantic flights foiled

I've always taken water onto planes. I hope those stewardesses can bring me a pitcher...

My wife's in the same boat. She always complains of how the air in the plane dries her out, and she always would bring a big bottle of water on board.

I'm glad this has been handled. I haven't been on a plane since I was two, but still weel done to all who were involved.

Its amazing I heard that there has been really no complaints by the english public, which is good. I also heard that womens make up is pretty much not allowed. Because its not essential. :heh: :p

Damn, they're getting resourceful. My initial thought was, "Did they kidnapped and tortured MacGyver for his trade secret?"

Hate to say this, but they're persistent in finding loopholes in our security network.

Because they know they're there. Terrorism is easier than people think.

Here's the problem. No matter how many holes you plug, they only have to find one you didn't think of. Security is best when it's a broad spectrum of randomly changing measures that don't target one specific vector, but instead behaves in an unpredictable and chaotic manner that attackers cannot anticipate.

I don't think I can say more than that without skirting a little too close to politics. :p

But how to do that without inconveniencing the traveling public?

Impossible.

Since terrorism is so easy, it speaks well for security intelligence to be able to fish out these people before they cause problems. How do you catch a person with a water bottle full of explosives? The culprits must have ticked off security by some other means.

So, like errata in our gamebooks, we have to live with terrorism?

I mean is that the one fact that all security personnel have to accept like our D&D editors accepting that errata will sneak through them, despite the public catching it?

I had a friend who was flying the next day after it happened, and he said that at the airport - LAX - they were not allowing any liquid or gell type stuff on the planes. Toothpaste, perfume, shampoo, all that kinda stuff was tossed into the trash. Someone said that the airport was dumping out the garbage airport-wide every three hours because of the inundationof these things being given the heave-ho.

That's a lotta smelly garbage.
